Myanmar Cambodia and Vietnam tour package 20 Day / 19 Night

DAY 1 YANGON

Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, you will be welcomed by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel for check in. You will visit Sule Pagoda (located on a roundabout in downtown Yangon), Yangon City Hall (featuring classic Myanmar architectural design), and the High Court (noted for its British colonial architecture, including its clock tower and its red-bricked exterior). Next, you’ll visit Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, built in 1966 and famous for its huge image of the Reclining Buddha, which replaced the older image built in 1907.

In the early evening, you will visit the famous Shwedagone Pagoda. Its massive bell-shaped golden spires are plated with 60 tons of gold, while the tip of the stupa is inset with diamonds, rubies, sapphires and topaz. You’ll have a restful overnight in Yangon.

DAY 2 BAGAN

After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for a flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, you will go for a sightseeing drive to Nyaung Oo Market, Shwezigone Pagoda (home to the Frontlet Relic of Buddha), Gubyaukgyi Temple (noted for its wall paintings), Htilominlo Pagoda (one of the largest temples of Bagan and noted for its fine plaster carvings) and Ananda Temple (the finest, largest and best preserved of all the Bagan temples). You will also get to explore Ananda Okkyaung (a brick monastery with 18th Century mural paintings) and Dhammayangyi Pagoda (extending approximately 255 feet on each of its four sides, making it Bagan’s most massive shrine). After lunch, you will visit a local family workshop to watch and learn about the production process of lacquer ware, one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts.

You will then continue on to visit Thatbyinnyu Pagoda (Bagan’s tallest temple at almost 217 feet high) and Nanpaya temple (a unique sandstone monument). Then you will enjoy the breathtaking sunset from Shwesandaw Pagoda, the most popular sunset-viewing spot in Bagan, before retiring for the evening in Bagan

DAY 3 TOUR OF BAGAN

After breakfast, you will continue your visit with a trip to Nathlaung Kyaung, the only remaining Hindu temple in Bagan. Next, you’ll visit Myazedi Pagoda (well known for its stone inscription which was engraved in the four languages of Myanmar) and Nagayon Pagoda, which was built at the end of the 11th Century and which resembles the Indian temples of the area of Orissa. Your next destination will be Abeyatanar Pagoda (famous for paintings that cover the inner walls) and then lunch at a local restaurant.

Your journey will continue to Nga-kywe-na-daung Pagoda (with early Pyu type brick masonry stupa), Manual Temple (one of the oldest temples in Bagan), and Mingalarzedi (noted for its fine proportions and many beautiful jataka tiles around its three square terraces). You will surely be ready for your relaxing overnight stay in Bagan

DAY 4 MANDALAY & AMARAPURA

There will be an early morning transfer to Bagan Airport for a flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, you will take an excursion to Amarapura, which means “City of Immortality” and which was founded in 1783 AD. You’ll then visit Mahaganthayon Monastery, the largest teaching monastery in Myanmar.

Next, you will enjoy the serenity of the U Bein wooden bridge (constructed in 1849 and measuring about three quarters of a mile long) and Taung-Ta-Man Lak (which always enchants visitors). After your hotel check in, you will continue your tour by visiting Mahar Myat Muni Buddha Image (the most ancient bronze cast Buddha image in Myanmar) and the reconstructed Mya Nan San Kyaw Palace.

This golden palace represents Myanmar’s sovereignty and independence, which arouses national patriotic spirit among the Myanmar people. Then you will be on your way to the handicraft workshops, where you will witness things such as bronze sculpting, gold leaf beating and marble stone carving. In the afternoon, you will visit Cathode Pagoda, which is often called the world’s largest book because it is home to a set of 729 huge stone slabs, on which Buddhist scriptures are inscribed.

You will finish the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill, a natural watchtower where visitors can watch the sunrise or sunset over the city plains. You’ll then have an overnight in Mandalay

DAY 5 SAGAING / MINGUN

After breakfast, you will set out fort Sagaing Hill, which has over 600 Buddhist monasteries where monks and nuns study and meditate. You’ll also visit U Min Thonze (or “Thirty Caves Pagoda”, which has many Buddha images in a crescent shaped colonnade), Ywahtaung Village (where you can see silver workers producing bowls and other silver items by traditional methods) and the impressive Soon Oo Pon Nya Shin Pagoda nearby.

After that, you will take a private boat to Mingun, which is famous for its huge and incomplete Pahtodawgyi Pagoda built by King Bodaw Badon in 1791 and the Mingun Bell, which is the biggest hanging bell in the world. Then you will head to the handicraft workshops and witness bronze sculpting, gold leaf beating and marble stone carving, before an overnight stay in Mandalay

DAY 6 YANGON

After breakfast at the hotel, you will fly back to Yangon, where you will continue your city tour with a visit to Lawka Chanthar, the world’s biggest marble Buddha and royal white elephant.

On the way, you may stop at the Naga Cave Monastic School, where you can learn the Myanmar monastic education system. You also have the option to visit Kandawgyi Lake and surrounding areas, which offer numerous photo opportunities.

After lunch, you can go shopping in the Bogyoke market (formerly “Scott Market”), where you can get a wide range of Myanmar handicrafts, jewelry, fabrics, lacquer ware and so on. You can also visit China Town markets selling fresh fruits, flowers and local delicacies.

Time permitting, your guide will bring you to the famous MK gems shop, where high quality gems are displayed in eight different decorated show rooms. This is just one example of why Myanmar is the world’s number one producer of precious stones. You will have an overnight stay in Yangon

DAY 7 & 8 PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA

Today is your last day in Myanmar, transfer to airport for a flight to Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, arrive and transfer to your hotel, rest of the day is at your own exploration.

After breakfast, you’ll discover the city of Phnom Penh. Here, you’ll visit Wat Phnom (an ancient pagoda standing on a hill) and the Independence Monument which commemorates the end of Cambodia’s rule by France in 1953. There is also Wat Unalom (the oldest Buddhist foundation in the city) which is believed to predate the abandonment of the capital at Angkor in the 15th Century. The National Museum (built in 1917-18) is exclusively dedicated to Khmer arts. The Royal Palace (built in 1866) and the Silver Pagoda, located within the Royal Palace compound, will also be on the tour. You will then continue to the famous Tuol Sleng Museum and Cheung Ek (better known as the “killing fields”) which is a testament to the atrocities of war and which is the site of numerous mass graves. You’ll then return to your hotel for an overnight stay

DAY 9 SIEM REAP

Upon arrival at Siem Reap Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The town of Siem Reap is our base for visiting the world famous temples of the ancient city of Angkor, which was the capital of the powerful Khmer Empire from 802 AD to 1350 AD. Rest of the day is at your own leisure

DAY 10 ANGKOR WAT

Today you will spend a full day exploring the wondrous ancient ruins within the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest temple of Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th Century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. You will stroll around this massive edifice, seeing the many galleries, with ornate columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds reflecting the towering temple. Next, you’ll walk up Phnom Bakheng Hill for a view of the spectacular sunset overlooking sandstone monuments. Overnight at your hotel in Siem Reap

DAY 11 KOMPONG PHLUC

Pick up for a half a day excursion to Tonle Lake, the largest fresh water in Southeast of Asia. You will firstly enjoy a fun ox cart ride through the countryside, continue to have a boat trip to enjoy the beautiful lake view and mangrove forest on the lake, then spend rest of the morning at the largest village on the lake which is called Kompong Phluk, time to discover the floating villages on a long tail boat,overnight in Siem Reap

DAY 12 SAIGON, VIETNAM

Morning transfer to airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City ( Saigon), arrive and check in at your hotel, in the afternoon we will have a sightseeing tour in Vietnam’s largest metropolis, the visit including; bustling Binh Thanh market, central post office, Notre Dame cathedral and the nearby war remnant museum, Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

DAY 13 MEKONG DELTA

The Mekong Delta is the southernmost region of Vietnam. It is often referred to as the rice bowl of Vietnam as it produces three crops of rice per year. The fertile Mekong Delta is also famous for its tropical fruits and flowers.

You will leave Saigon for lush My Tho for a Mekong Delta tour where you will cruise on a private boat through the green vegetation of the canals to an orchard, where you will be treated to a delicious lunch in a local restaurant in the heart of the Mekong, complete with tropical fruits. You will also visit the snake farm Dong Tam that breeds snakes for, among other things, snake wine, before heading back to HCMC for an overnight stay

DAY 14 & 15 NHA TRANG

This morning you will take a flight to the resort town of Nha Trang to spend next two days at a seaside resort overlooking beautiful Nha Trang Bay. You can snorkel or dive among the coral reefs in crystal blue waters, hike nature trails, cool off in your private plunge pool, indulge in spa treatments or just relax on the white sand beach and admire the unspoiled mountain and sea views.

DAY 16 HANOI

You will transfer to the airport for flight to Hanoi, the oriental capital of Vietnam. After check in at your hotel and in the afternoon, you can ride a cyclo around the Old Quarter then go to dinner at a super restaurant in the French Quarter. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show before an overnight stay in Hanoi.

DAY 17 & 18 HALONG BAY

Pick up by our guide for a 4 hour ride to Halong city, upon arrival you will welcome aboard the cruise. There are different activities and things to do based on your chosen Halong Bay Overnight Cruise

DAY 19 HANOI

The colonial capital city of Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental pagodas and temples. This full day tour takes you around Hanoi’s most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his Stilts House, the Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda, and the Old Quarter, which is a maze of 36 streets and craft guilds. Also on the tour are the Lake of the Restored Sword, Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, peaceful West Lake (with “lovers street”, Thanh Nien), Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple and one of the city’s best museums, either the History Museum or the Ethnology Museum. You will stay overnight in Hanoi

DAY 20 DEPARTURE
